OBDC Construction Academy – Blueprint Reading Class was a success

The OBDC Construction Academy hosted a Blueprint Reading class at the City of Columbus Planroom.  Daniel Odion, the head estimator with Ascension Construction Solutions, provided valuable instruction and advice to local small business owners.  The small class sizes allow for personalized attention and the ability to ask questions.

Daniel will provide information on how to Read the Specification Book on June 29.  The class is open to OBDC Construction Academy alum and members of the OBDC Planroom.  More information is online at OHBDC.org

Columbus Zoo seeks bids for the Force Main Investigation Project

Prequalified bidders are hereby invited by The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Association (CZA) to submit proposals for the Force Main Investigation Project. Proposals for the project will be received by The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium (CZA). The Bid date is June 28, 2023. Daniel Odion, Lead Engineer with Ascension Construction Solutions, will teach two classes for the OBDC Construction Academy in June.  

  • June 22 – Basic Blueprint Reading
  • June 29 – Understanding the Specification Book

In Daniel’s 14 years of experience, he has worked on projects in the United States, the UK, and Africa. His diversified engineering background has given him opportunities to operate in public and private sectors in various professional capacities ranging from engineering design to construction management. His vast construction experience has proven valuable in resolving risks with cost-effective and time-saving solutions. He has a track record of using best practices to excel in demanding environments while directing developmental project teams culminating in successful deliverables.

Daniel is Lead Engineer (QAQC) for Ascension Construction Solutions in Columbus, Ohio. His interests include mentoring youths, volunteering in charitable organizations, and reading professional books while his hobbies are playing soccer, watching movies and cooking.
