CMHA ASPIRE COLUMBUS DEMOLITION

The Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) will receive bids from qualified contractors for the CMHA Aspire Columbus Demolition, 360 South 3rd Street, Columbus, Ohio. All bids will be publicly opened on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 10:00 am, during a virtual bid opening via Zoom or in-person at 880 E. 11th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio, Conference Room 1A.  Please contact Chris Belcastro (cbelcastro@cmhanet.com) to obtain the link at least 12 hours before the bid opening.  Bids for anyone attending the virtual bid opening should be mailed or dropped off at 880 E. 11th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio, before 10:00 am on January 7, 2025, and time stamped. If you plan to drop off your bid, please notify the security officer at the front door of a “BID,” and they will time stamp it. Kokosing Industrial, Inc. is preparing bids for the Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant S-97 Organics Receiving and Bioenergy Facility project in Columbus, Ohio which bids September 25, 2024.  The project general, consists of two (2), three (3) million gallon digesters, a new digester control building, relocation of the waste gas burner complex, replacing six 85-foot floating digester covers with fixed concrete covers, new waste gas burners and a vapor combustion unit, new northwest switching station and associated electrical gear, 6-megawatt CHP facility with gas conditioning, 60,000 gallons per day fats, oil, and grease (FOG) and organic waste receiving facility, relocation of the 108” plant bypass, and other such work within the Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The City of Columbus (Owner) is pursuing Investment Tax Credits (ITC) through The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) signed into federal law on August 16, 2022.  The IRA amended existing, and created new, clean energy tax credit programs under the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.  The Owner plans to maximize the value of the ITC the Project will generate and intends to receive a 50% ITC.  SPECIAL ATTENTION IS DIRECTED TOWARD SP-26: SECTION 00 90 00, IRA REQUIREMENTS within the bidding documents.  Section 00 90 00, IRA Requirements describes the strict procedures and requirements the contractor, subcontractors, and suppliers must comply with to ensure Owner is and remains eligible for the tax credits. These requirements include:

  • Prevailing Wage Requirements
  • Apprenticeship Requirements
  • Domestic Content Requirements
  • Continuity Requirements during construction

Franklin County issues bid notice for County Resurfacing Program

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS  

Bids shall be submitted electronically through the www.bidexpress.com webservice until 2:00 p.m. local time on  March 19, 2024, and the same will be publicly opened at the same hour at the office of the Franklin County Engineer for  the labor and material necessary for the improvement of 2024 Franklin County Resurfacing Program. EBE Goal 8 % 

Project Description: Upgrading 5.104 miles of various sections of Franklin County roadways including Babbitt Road,  Big Run South Road, Clark State Road, Elliott Road, Hayden Run Road, Henderson Road, Obetz-Reese Road, Sunbury  Road, and West Case Road with asphalt resurfacing and aggregate berm material.  

The plans, profiles, specifications, and estimates of quantities for doing this work are on file at the Franklin County  Engineer’s Office for inspection by interested parties during business hours Monday thru Friday.  

Bidders are required to be PRE-QUALIFIED WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION to submit a bid for this project.  

All proposals shall be submitted electronically through the webservice www.bidexpress.com. Proposals must  contain the name of every person interested therein and shall be accompanied by a bid guaranty and contract bond for the  full amount of bid; or in lieu of the bid guaranty and contract bond the bidder may submit a bid guaranty as provided by  Section 153.54 of the Revised Code in the form of a certified check or cashier’s check pursuant to Chapter 1305 of the  Revised Code. The amount of the certified check or cashier’s check shall be equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid. The  certified check or cashier’s check submitted with a bid will be held as a guarantee on an accepted bid proposal.  

The contract will be awarded within 60 days of the bid opening date. At that time, a bid guaranty and contract bond  in the sum of 100% of the bid shall be executed in accordance with Section 307.89 of the Revised Code of Ohio. All  qualified business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and no bidder  will be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in awarding the subject contract.  

Certified Check or Cashier’s Check will be returned to all other bidders after the Contract has been awarded.  The bidder’s address shall be included along with his/her signature on the bid.  

The work shall be completed no later than July 19, 2024. Upon failure to complete the work within the time  specified, the Contractor shall be governed in accordance with Section 5555.67 of the Revised Code of Ohio. No  proposal shall be considered unless it complies with all the rules and regulations set forth in the Contract  documents. All bidders are urged to carefully read the same and comply with them. The Board of County  Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
