Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Guest Entry Security Pavilion and Site Improvements

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium (CZA) is seeking proposals from local companies to perform Design Build services for a new shelter structure, required infrastructure and site improvements at the guest entrance to support a new threat detection system.

A single contract will be awarded for this Design Build Project.

Bidders shall note that the Prevailing Wage Rates published by the Department of Labor are to be complied with throughout the project. Columbus Zoo and Aquarium seeks RFPs for North America Soil Borings project

INVITATION TO BID

Prequalified bidders are hereby invited by The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Association (CZA) to submit proposals for the North America Soil Borings Project. Proposals for the project will be received by The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium (CZA) until 5:00 PM on July 19th, 2023.

Franklin County Engineer seeks bids for the Plain Township Station No. 121 Site Improvements in New Albany

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS  

Bids shall be submitted electronically through the www.bidexpress.com webservice until 10:00 a.m. local time on  July 11, 2023, and the same will be publicly opened at the same hour at the office of the Franklin County Engineer for the  labor and material necessary for the improvement of Plain Township Fire Station No. 121 Site Improvements in New  Albany, OhioEBE Goal: 3% 

Project Description: Rehabilitation of the driveways, parking lots, and minor drainage improvements at the Plain  Township Fire Station No. 121. The project is located at 9500 Johnstown Road, New Albany, Ohio 43054.  

All proposals shall be submitted electronically through the webservice www.bidexpress.com. Proposals must  contain the name of every person interested therein and shall be accompanied by a bid guaranty and contract bond for the  full amount of bid; or in lieu of the bid guaranty and contract bond the bidder may submit a bid guaranty as provided by  Section 153.54 of the Revised Code in the form of a certified check or cashier’s check. The amount of the certified check  or cashier’s check shall be equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid. The certified check or cashier’s check submitted with a  bid will be held as a guarantee on an accepted bid proposal.  

 The contract will be awarded within 60 days of the bid opening date. At that time, a bid guaranty and contract  bond in the sum of 100% of the bid plus all add alternates shall be executed in accordance with Section 307.89 of the  Revised Code of Ohio.  

 All qualified business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and  no bidder will be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or national origin in awarding the subject contract.  

Certified Check or Cashier’s Check will be returned to all other bidders after the Contract has been awarded.  The bidder’s address shall be included along with his/her signature on the bid.  

The work shall be completed no later than May 31, 2024. Upon failure to complete the work within the time  specified, the Contractor shall be governed in accordance with Section 5555.67 of the Revised Code of Ohio. No  proposal shall be considered unless it complies with all the rules and regulations set forth in the Contract documents. All  bidders are urged to carefully read the same and comply with them. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the  right to reject any or all bids.

OBDC Construction Academy – Blueprint Reading Class was a success

The OBDC Construction Academy hosted a Blueprint Reading class at the City of Columbus Planroom.  Daniel Odion, the head estimator with Ascension Construction Solutions, provided valuable instruction and advice to local small business owners.  The small class sizes allow for personalized attention and the ability to ask questions.

Daniel will provide information on how to Read the Specification Book on June 29.  The class is open to OBDC Construction Academy alum and members of the OBDC Planroom.  More information is online at OHBDC.org

Franklin County Engineer issues bid notice for the improvement of Elmore Avenue

Project Description: Construction of 3,615 feet of concrete sidewalk along the south side of Elmore Avenue,  between Karl Road and Cleveland Avenue, along with associated work.
